She was born to Robert & Mildred (Monson) Gehling in Oconto Falls, WI and spent her years growing up in Suring, WI. She was the second of three children. She graduated from Suring High School in 1941 and from the Green Bay Cosmotology School in 1942. She worked as a cosmetologist in Green Bay, Oconto Falls and Waukesha, WI. She was the owner of two salons-Beauty Plaza and Cameo Beauty Salon in Waukesha. She married Lawrence (Larry) Christiansen in Suring, WI on October 4, 1946. She and Larry had 4 children-LeAnn Marie (married to W. Steve Albrecht) Orem, UT; Jerry (who died at birth); Kathy Jo (married to Peter Mehling) New Berlin, WI; and Kay Joy Reiber, Orem, UT. She has 13 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren.Judy loved going to their family home in Suring where she had many fond memories. She loved spending time with her brothers and their families and her children. She was a dedicated Green Bay Packers fan. Her family was most important in her life.In 1968 Judy joined the LDS Church, along with her daughters LeAnn, Kathy and Kay. In 1985, Larry and Judy moved to Orem, UT where she lived until passing away. She was active in the LDS church and loved doing genealogy and gardening. Judy was an amazingly active person. She rarely went to bed before 1 or 2 a.m. and she was always up by 7 a.m. Until in her 80s, she continued to participate in activities with her daughters and grandchildren including going down waterslides, riding in the mountains, riding snowmobiles and attending soccer and ball games. She was thrilled when her favorite Wisconsin store-Kohls-opened in Utah. Her children and grandchildren loved her wit and humor and her direct way of telling them what she thought. You always knew where you stood with Judy. She was always ready for a good debate about politics.Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mildred (Monson) Gehling, husband, Lawrence (Larry) Christiansen (1992), son Jerry (1950), and brother Curtis Gehling (2011). New funeral director

I was sitting at a barbecue restaurant and overheard two gentlemen say they needed extra help because they were so busy,” he said. “I introduced myself and offered any assistance that I could be for them, because I was actually looking for a job.”During that conversation with the two men, Reser learned they needed help at a funeral home.“They asked if I had a shirt and tie. I said, ‘No. But I can have one by tomorrow,’” he said.Reser went shopping that evening and bought a shirt and a tie.“I showed up at the funeral home the next day,” he said. “I knew the minute I walked into the funeral home that that was where I was supposed to be.”It was 2008 and Reser was fresh out of the U.S. Navy.He began working part time at Crafton Funeral Home, in Franklin, Kentucky.Until then, Reser had no interest in funeral service.“It was never on my radar. It just happened,” he said.During his first day working there, Reser began learning the ins and outs of the business and worked at visitation.He quickly realized how rewarding it is to help people.Reser apprenticed with Crafton Funeral Home for one year and then went to Mid America College of Funeral Service, in Jeffersonville, Indiana.While going to mortuary school full time, he also worked full time in Louisville and had a newborn at home.He graduated in 2009 with an associate degree in the applied sciences of funeral services and returned to working at Crafton Funeral Home.Reser worked there about a year and a half before he decided to return to his Wisconsin roots.He grew up in the Berlin area, and joined the Navy after graduating from Berlin High School in 2003.“It was after 9/11,” he said. “I had made my mind up that that’s what I needed to do.”While he signed up for four years, he served five years.Reser did two deployments to Guantanamo Bay.“I was doing correctional work there. It was tolling,” he said.After he moved back to Wisconsin, he managed Kuehl Funeral Home, in Gillett, for three years.From there, he went to Hayward Funeral Home.Now Reser is a fune...
